Emma Guardamagna is the jewelry designer and founder of Unconventional Jewellery & Accessories. Born in Italy and raised in Milano, she was strongly influenced by the Italian fashion scene and obtained a degree in fashion communication. She came to Vancouver, Canada, in 2007 and, after graduating from La Salle College, she used her experience, knowledge and creative passion to launch her jewelry business. As well as teaching as full-time instructor in beading, visual presentation and history and trends at La Salle College, she oversees every aspect of Unconventional Jewellery & Accessories. Her designs bring together soft and simple shapes with modern and assertive forms. Different media are combined to explore the relationships between elements, like texture and color. Each item is hand-crafted in limited quantities to ensure a level of individuality and distinctiveness, and reflects an intent to create a unique, unconventional, piece.
